The GuideLight® PLUS

An outlet cover with LEDs built in. It draws its own power from the outlet, senses dusk, and lights the floor in front of it — for up to 25 years.

The plug-in problem

A nightlight that
steals an outlet
isn't a bargain.

The GuideLight PLUS lives inside the cover plate. Both sockets stay open, there's nothing sticking out of the wall, and there's nothing for a toddler or a dog to pull out and lose.

Both outlets stay usable. Vacuum, phone charger, lamp — nothing gets evicted.
Nothing to grab. Flush to the wall, so kids and pets can't yank it out.
No bulbs, ever. The LED bar is rated for up to 25 years and sips 0.24 watts.

Install

One screwdriver. 30 seconds.

Two spring-loaded prongs make contact inside the outlet, so the plate powers itself. That's the whole trick — no wiring, no batteries, no electrician.

Unscrew the old plate
01

Kill the breaker, unscrew the plate

One screw. Pop the old cover off and set it aside.

Spring-loaded prongs on the back of the plate
02

Snap the GuideLight on

The prongs slide alongside the outlet's contacts. Screw it down.

Forget about it for 25 years

Power back on. It lights at dusk, off at dawn, on its own.

The price

Yes, it costs more than a $4 nightlight.

So does a light fixture — and that's the honest comparison. This is built-in lighting for a hallway, not a plastic thing you plug in and replace every year.

★★★★★

This is a genius invention

“Remove the old faceplate, replace it with the lighted version — love that I still have 2 usable outlets. They provide ample light at night. Thinking I may buy some more for our lower level.”

Just what I needed

“As someone who frequents the restroom in the middle of the night, I do not want to turn on the big light and wake my husband. This gives just enough light to get there safely. Will purchase more!”

Questions people ask first

Is it really that easy to install?+

Yes. Flip the breaker off for that outlet, unscrew and pop off your existing cover plate, snap the GuideLight on in its place, and put the screw back. Power back on and you're done.

Which outlets does it fit?+

Standard 120V duplex, décor, and GFCI receptacles — pick the matching style above. It is not compatible with USB outlets, dimmers, or smart outlets. Only the GFCI style works on GFCI outlets.

Will it keep me awake?+

It's a warm 3700K glow aimed down at the floor, about 1.25 lumens on bright. There's a switch for bright, dim, or off, so you can tune each room.

What does it add to my power bill?+

0.24 watts on bright, and 0.0036 watts during the day when the sensor shuts the LEDs off. Pennies a year.

Is it safe and certified?+
