2. The GuideLight 2 PLUS includes a light sensor AND also includes a switch that allows you to adjust the brightness between Bright, Dim and Off settings.
Both products are designed to increase or decrease slowly depending on the amount of light in the room. They should be at full brightness when the room is completely dark and slowly dim as the room gets lighter.

Which light switches are the SwitchLights compatible with?
There are likely 2 types of light switches in your home, and we have a SwitchLight for both!
- Single gang, single pole switches. This means that the SwitchLight installs over a single light switch, and that the SwitchLight will work in areas where one light switch controls the overhead lights. These are typically found in bathrooms and small rooms, where one switch controls the overhead lights. Our SwitchLight is perfect for those
- 3-way & 4-way switches. These are the areas where 2 or more switches control one set of overhead lights. These are typically found in hallways and larger bedrooms & bathrooms. Our SwitchLight for 3 & 4 way switches is perfect for those
Please note that areas with two light switches controlling the same overhead lights (like a hallway) sometimes have the light switches installed upside down (with the screw terminals on the left hand side of the light switch instead of the right hand side). If this is the case, the light switch will need to be turned around so that the screw terminals are on the right hand side of the switch before the SwitchLight is installed.
Will the SwitchLight work in a location where the overhead lights are controlled by two or more different switches?
Yes! We now how The SwitchLight for 3 & 4-way Switches. This product is compatible in areas where 2 or more switches control the over head lights. Click here for your SwitchLight options
Will the SwitchLight work on a dimmer switch, motion sensing light switch or a smart light switch?
No, the SwitchLight only works with standard toggle and decor light switches. The SwitchLight will not work on dimmers, motion sensing, or smart light switches because they do not have the required screw terminals for the SwitchLight to draw power from.
Is the SwitchLight ETL listed?
Yes! The SwitchLight has been designed to the highest standards of safety, and is ETL listed in the US and Canada.
How much energy does the SwitchLight use?
The SnapPower SwitchLight is designed to be energy efficient, and uses less than 10 cents of energy for the entire year.
Will the SwitchLight work upside-down (with lights pointed up)?
The SwitchLight is designed to pull power from the screws on the right hand side of the light switch, which means the SwitchLight will install with the lights pointing down. If you want the SwitchLight to install with the lights pointing up, you will need to turn off the power and turn your light switch around so that the screws are on the left hand side of the light switch.
What devices are compatible with the Charger?
All of them! The Charger charges all devices that use a standard USB.
How many USB ports and what is the charging power?
1. The Original Charger includes 1 port and 1Amp of charging power.
2. The Charger 2.0 includes 2 ports and 2.1Amps of charging power.
How long will my Charger last?
We engineered the Charger with premium parts to ensure that it lasts for as long as possible. We estimate that the Charger will last for at least 10 years under normal use.
Does the Charger come with surge protection?
Yes. Similar to other USB charging devices, the Charger has built-in surge protection.
Can I install the Charger upside down (with the USB port above the outlet)?
The SnapPower Charger is designed to work in only one orientation. The USB port is designed to be installed on the same side as the ground prongs on the outlet. For example: If the ground prongs on the outlet are facing down, the Charger will need to be installed with the USB port beneath the outlet. If the ground prongs on the outlet are facing up, then the Charger will need to be installed with the USB port above the outlet.
Is the Charger ETL listed?
Yes! The Charger has been designed to the highest standards of safety, and is ETL listed in the US and Canada.
How long will the LEDs in the SafeLight last?
The SafeLights will last for up to 25 years before the LEDs begin to dim.
How much does it cost to operate a SafeLight?
The SafeLight costs around 10 cents a year to power (depending on your local cost of power).
How does the SafeLight turn on and off?
There are 2 ways that the SafeLight turns on and off:
- It has a small switch on the face of the plate that can adjust the brightness levels to dim and bright. There is also an “off” setting, so if you ever want the lights off, even during the night, just turn the switch off!
- Located behind the switch is a light sensor. This light sensor will automatically turn the LEDs off during the day, and at night, the LEDs will turn back on gradually as the light in the room is decreased.
Is the SafeLight ETL listed?
No. The SafeLight uses the same core, prong technology that is in the ETL listed GuideLights, Chargers and SwitchLights. Even though there are many products available on the market that use sliding safety doors (SnapPower’s is the only one with a light), ETL will not certify these products. This is because the safety door keeps the plug from going ALL they way into the outlet. The circuitry is still designed to meet ETL standards.
