What if outlet cover plates doubled as night lights, thus freeing up prime real estate? That’s the idea behind the SnapRays Guidelight, a sleek little product that recently came on our radar. Created by SnapPower — a Utah-based startup that invents lots of “Oh, duh!” solutions for powering lights and electronics — the Guidelight is a replacement outlet cover with built-in LED night lights and a sensor that automatically turns them on/off based on how dark it is. It’s one of those products that make so much sense we can’t believe it’s not already a household standard.
